{"id":215,"date":"2014-03-19T10:25:59","date_gmt":"2014-03-19T16:25:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.phantomimages.com\/blogs\/tech\/?p=215"},"modified":"2014-10-10T09:30:52","modified_gmt":"2014-10-10T15:30:52","slug":"cm-2012-application-catalog-color-themes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.phantomimages.com\/blogs\/tech\/2014\/03\/19\/cm-2012-application-catalog-color-themes\/","title":{"rendered":"CM 2012 &#8211; Application Catalog &#8211; Color Themes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For this article, I decided to write about something a little lighter\u2026 color choices within the CM 2012 Application Catalog.\u00a0 If your company likes to have a specific color dominant within corporate websites, perhaps you can preemptively change the color theme of your Application Catalog to match this color before you are asked to do so.<\/p>\n<p>If you navigate to the properties page of the Application Catalog website point and then select the Customization tab, you will see a line labeled \u201cWebsite theme:\u201d followed by a box showing a blue square and the word \u201cBlue.\u201d\u00a0 (I\u2019ve cut out a lot of the blank space in the picture below.) Blue is the default color of the Application Catalog.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.phantomimages.com\/blogs\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Customization-Tab.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 5px 10px 10px 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"Customization Tab\" alt=\"Customization Tab\" src=\"http:\/\/www.phantomimages.com\/blogs\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Customization-Tab_thumb.png\" width=\"502\" height=\"178\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This box is a drop-down selector for other default colors, plus a color palatte for creating a custom color theme.\u00a0 Click on the box and the drop-down selections shown below will appear.\u00a0 If you wish to create a custom color, click on \u201cMore colors\u2026\u201d at the bottom of the list.\u00a0 After you have completed selecting a color, click the \u201cApply\u201d button and then click okay.\u00a0 The Application Catalog will reflect the selected color upon next being loaded by a client.\u00a0 (I discuss more about custom colors as well as a useful tool that can be used for that the end of the article.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.phantomimages.com\/blogs\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Color-Palette.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 5px 10px 10px 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"Alternative Colors\" alt=\"Alternative Colors\" src=\"http:\/\/www.phantomimages.com\/blogs\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Alternative-Colors_thumb.png\" width=\"201\" height=\"284\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If none of these alternate colors closely match what you need, clicking on the \u201cDefine Custom Colors\u201d button at the bottom will bring up a custom color palette, again, which should be familiar.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.phantomimages.com\/blogs\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Alternative-Colors-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 5px 10px 10px 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"Alternative Colors 2\" alt=\"Alternative Colors 2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.phantomimages.com\/blogs\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Alternative-Colors-2_thumb.png\" width=\"377\" height=\"279\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The tool I prefer to use for discovering RGB numbers for corporate colors is a free tool named Instant Eyedropper available from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spicebrains.com\" target=\"_blank\">SpiceBrains<\/a>.\u00a0 Here is the site for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.instant-eyedropper.com\" target=\"_blank\">Instant Eyedropper<\/a> tool itself.\u00a0 The download link is in the upper right-hand corner.\u00a0 After installing this tool, an icon will appear in the system tray (Windows 7 is shown in these examples) as a small color wheel.\u00a0 I\u2019ve put a red square around the icon in the picture below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.phantomimages.com\/blogs\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/System-Tray.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none;
