Plant Families

In my discussions concerning companion planting, I may mention plant “families,” such as “members of the cabbage family.” In cases such as these I am referring to a group of plants which are considered to all be part of a family of plants.

Here are the families to which I’ll be referring: (I’ll try and list these in alphabetical order)

Beans, Bush – Butter, green, snap, string, wax (remember there are bush

Cabbage – Bok choy, Broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, collards, kale, rutabaga, turnip

Onion (Allium) – Chives, garlic, leeks, regular ol’ onions, shallots, welsh onions
